I feel much better.
It's amazing how knocked-out you can get from one little infection. I was practically couch-ridden all last week (definitely didn't get to run like I had planned), and I hardly ate anything. While feeling extraordinarily nauseous all day isn't great, the weight (near 10 pounds) I lost from not eating is great. It's not the ideal way to lose weight but I'll take what I can get!
It's beautiful outside, and I'm glad I'm feeling well enough to go out and enjoy it. I usually take a picture of SLC at the end of every month, and I didn't do it for May because I didn't feel like hiking to the top of the hill I take the photo from. I don't know if I still feel up to it. I'll give it a try today and if I make it, great! And if not... well... I tried.

Growl
Being in constant pain makes me grumpy. Surprise!
Also, Jake and I go through black printer ink faster than we change underpants, so I have to forego my sitting-at-home plans and actually go out to get more ink. Blurrrggggg. >:|

It's Palpable
Apologies. I've been laid out sick the past few of days and had absolutely zero motivation to do anything except watch David Attinborough narrate a documentary about birds. It's an awesome documentary. If you have Netflix, instant stream that shit!
I went to the ER on Saturday night (it wasn't a real emergency, but it was Saturday night and my normal doctor was not available), got poked a bit, and was given medication that was presumably supposed to fix me and make my pain stop. The medication caused chills, fever, headache, nausea, and stiff muscles. My doctor is out of town but her nurses or PAs or whatever they are said I could come in and they would be able to determine if my issue was cleared up.
"Hooray!" they say, after a few minutes of waiting. "The medication worked!"
"Then why am I still in near-excruciating pain?" I queried.
They looked at each other and said, "Ionno."
So I have another appointment on Friday to see a real doctor and hopefully get this whole thing cleared up. It's nice to know that the medication worked and got rid of one part of this pain equation, but it's disconcerting to know that something is still wrong, causing lots of pain, and no one yet knows what it is.
Like any good child of the Age of the Internet, I promptly went to WebMD and looked up my symptoms. WebMD told me I have cancer. Or lupus. Or a blood clotting disorder. Or a flesh-eating bacteria on my insides.
At least Camille isn't sick.

Wednesday Gripe
Uhh I posted this on Thursday and then edited the Labels today, and now it's showing as being a Friday post. Blogger is being weird.
Camille is teething.
I hate teething.
Teething makes her cry, and it makes me want to cry. I get no sleep at night, and she begins the day by screaming and crying.
Yesterday, she cried for four hours, broken by maybe five minutes here and there when I would give her a new toy or teether in hopes that the new item would make her happy. And it would... for five minutes. Then she would throw whatever it was on the ground and continue wailing.
She finally fell asleep after four hours of crying. Did I mention that I'm sick once again? So I'm feeling generally crappy with a headache and sore throat and upset stomach, and my apartment turned off the water from 9am to 5pm, so I didn't have any running water all day.
On the upside, feeling cruddy kept me inside, and I got some crocheting done! I made an Ugly Bunny, but in my humble opinion, he's so ugly, he's cute!
This one was made for a friend, so I'm working on another one for Camille. It's purple and rather than being an Ugly Bunny, it's going to be an Ugly Mars Monster.

Velocibaby Transformation: 71% Complete
Camille has a cold, and she has lost her voice. When she tries to make noise, she sounds like a baby velociraptor.
So on the velocibaby transformation checklist:

Sick Again
Jake is like a preschooler. He keeps getting sick at work or school, and he brings it home and makes me sick. Camille, so far, has been impervious.
The symptoms are as follows: nausea, vomiting (in Jake's case, not mine), muscle aches, headache, fever, cough, and the inability to stand for long periods of time. When I stand too long, I feel like I'm going to pass out. Sometimes Camille will get squirrely and will only be happy when I'm holding her while standing. Last time I was sick, she was grumpy all day, so I had to switch between standing and getting ever more lightheaded, and sitting down and listening to her scream.
It was a great day.
It seems like every month this whole sickness thing occurs. So I've informed Jake that he needs to find out who keeps making him sick, so I can go to their house and beat the fuck out of them to keep them home. it's just inconsiderate to go to school or work while sick, because then you make everyone else sick, and they take it home and make their family sick, and then their wife finds out where you live and takes a metal pipe to your knees. It could all have been avoided if you had just stayed home.

Nerdflix
Right before Christmas, Jake and I got sick. It was a flu-ey type illness with body aches and fever and vomiting (for him, not me, I never vomit). It only lasted a couple of days but it sucked nonetheless.
Camille didn't get sick, not even a sniffle. SuperBaby!
Well, we're sick again, and with the same thing it seems like. Jake basically dragged himself from bed to couch to floor all day, grunting and groaning the entire time. I felt pretty nasty all morning, but then around 3, I magically felt better.
Camille still isn't sick.
Tomorrow, I'm going on a journey to... Nebraska.Yes, it is very exciting. The point of said journey isn't important; I'm not taking Camille, and that is important. I'll leave on Saturday morning and come back Sunday afternoon. It's one night and hardly two days away from her, but I'm still freaking out. I've been pumping and storing milk for a while. I have a bunch of 2.5 oz bottles in the fridge and many frozen 5 oz pouches in the freezer, but I'm still afraid they're going to run out of milk and be forced to feed her formula (yuck!).
I don't know if she'd even take formula. Lately she's being a weenus about taking boob if she's really hungry, and she won't take pumped milk if it's not warm enough. I suspect having formula put in her mouth would elicit the following reaction:
School starts next week. I'm SO EXCITED! Physiology, Chemistry, and Maff (groosssss). It's a 12-credit load this semester, and I'm kind of nervous about finding the time to study and do homework with Squiggles and her demands. I got shiny new notebooks and new pencils and pens. I love school.
So, Jake and I have a Netflix queue that's about 50 movies long. Half of those are National Geographic TV specials about everything from North Koreans to ancient Mayans to US Special Forces. I asked my FB friends if that made Jake and I giant dorks. I was assured that we're dorks for other reasons.
